The answer to this question is more complicated than expected.. If you or someone you love has been bitten, attacked or injured because of someone else's dog, the owner is liable in the state of California for your injuries. Whether a landlord or home owner are also liable is dependent on several factors include whether they were on notice that the dog was dangerous. If they have knowledge that the dog is dangerous, they could be on the hook for your damages as well. It is important to have an attorney evaluate your case, as no two cases are exactly the same.
